OREANDA-NEWS  The Bank of Russia has revoked the first license from the bank since the beginning of this year — from Promtransbank, earlier in 2024, the regulator revoked a total of six licenses for banking operations, RIA Novosti found out.

Promtransbank is registered in Ufa. In terms of assets, he ranked 177th in the Russian banking system, according to the Central Bank's website.

The Deposit Insurance Agency plans to begin payments to Promtransbank depositors no later than April 29, with a preliminary estimate of 5.64 billion rubles.

The Central Bank revoked Promtransbank's license, as it violated federal laws governing banking activities, as well as regulatory acts of the regulator, which is why the Bank of Russia has repeatedly applied measures to it over the past 12 months, including imposing restrictions on attracting depositors' funds.

Also, according to the regulator, the credit institution violated the requirements of the legislation on countering the legalization of laundering of proceeds from crime and the financing of terrorism.
In the previous year, in 2024, the Bank of Russia revoked six licenses for banking operations: from Qiwi Bank, from Gefest Bank, from Strela Bank, from Avtogradbank, from BKF Bank and from Garant-Invest bank.
