OREANDA-NEWS Russian President Vladimir Putin will lead the Russian delegation at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. in China. This was announced by the Ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Marat Berdyev, TASS reports.
"The summit is scheduled for November 18-19 in Shenzhen. The Russian delegation will be headed by President Vladimir Putin," the diplomat said.
Berdyev noted that the Russian leader's participation in the APEC summit demonstrates the importance Moscow attaches to economic relations with partners in the Asia-Pacific region and Beijing in particular.
The Russian president's previous visit to China took place on May 19-20. During the talks, Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed on dozens of projects at once, from energy and infrastructure to visa—free travel and media cooperation. A separate outcome was the declaration on a multipolar world, in which the parties opposed pressure on sovereign states.
