OREANDA-NEWS  The social network VKontakte has analyzed which region of Russia is most actively adding friends to each other. The Vologda Region became the leader of the rating: on average, its residents have 217 friends — twice as many as users from Moscow (105 friends). 

The top 5 friendliest regions also included Arkhangelsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl and Novgorod regions. Residents of St. Petersburg have an average of 142 friends.

According to the study, in 2025, one in three users has more friends, and 37 percent have increased the number of subscribers compared to last year. On average, VKontakte users have 106 friends and 71 subscribers. The number of subscribers for the authors increased by 15 percent over the year.

They are most often added to friends in late July, late August, and early December. This year, activity has increased dramatically since January 8th.

On average, women have 20 percent more friends on VKontakte than men. Also, women, mostly between the ages of 20 and 32, receive almost twice as many subscribers.

Earlier in July, VKontakte found out how Russians feel about artificial intelligence (AI). According to the survey results, a quarter of respondents have a positive attitude towards the content created by AI, and just over half have a neutral attitude towards it.
