OREANDA-NEWS   The powerful momentum set by the leaders of Russia and the United States at the Anchorage meeting has largely been exhausted, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Wednesday.

"Unfortunately, we have to admit that Anchorage's powerful momentum in favor of agreements has been largely exhausted by the efforts of opponents and supporters of the war, to the last Ukrainian, primarily among Europeans," he told reporters in Moscow.

He noted that "this is the result of the destructive activities, first of all, of the Europeans."

On August 15, Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump held talks at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base in Anchorage, Alaska.
