OREANDA-NEWS There are no plans to abandon the parallel import mechanism in Russia or change it yet, as the scheme has a positive effect for domestic businesses, consumers of the country, as well as for foreign manufacturers operating in the Russian Federation, Roman Chekushov, Deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, told reporters.

"We are not even discussing such a task yet. According to our estimates, according to the estimates of businesses, including foreign ones, which operate in Russia, there are no systemic complaints or complaints about the operation of the mechanism. In other words, consumers, businesses, and the government alike assess its effectiveness. It makes no sense to say that it needs to be changed or canceled somehow. We work exactly as we are," said Chekushov.

The parallel import mechanism was launched in Russia in 2022 against the background of the "flight" from the domestic market of some foreign brands and companies. Within the framework of the mechanism, it is possible to import goods without the permission of the manufacturer.
