OREANDA-NEWS More than 340 thousand residents of Moscow rent scooters every day. The number of users of this type of transport was named in the press service of the Moscow Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

According to the ministry, since the beginning of the season in 2026, about 50 million scooter rides have been made in the capital. Most often, users completed trips in the Basmanny and Presnensky districts, as well as in Ramenki. Electric scooters help residents get to metro stations and public transport stops, in addition, they are used for independent trips and recreation.

Earlier, Vice-president of the National Automobile Union Jan Heitser called for a ban on couriers riding electric bicycles in the winter season. According to him, such trips may not be safe.
