OREANDA-NEWS Currently, Russia has hidden labor reserves, which include citizens who do not belong to the economically active population. There are a total of 7.5 million such personnel in the country, RBC reports, citing calculations by the ACRA rating agency.

Out of 7.5 million people, according to the agency's estimate, almost 5 million belong to the older age category, and another 1.5 million are representatives of the younger generation. ACRA also noted that the category of economically inactive population includes a significant number of Russians who "want to work, but cannot realize this desire for various reasons."

At the same time, the rating agency's assessment does not include the potential of labor immigration. If this factor is taken into account, the potential of additional labor in Russia may be higher, experts concluded.

Earlier, Viktor Sadovnichy, rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, said that in 2023 in Russia about 60 percent of Russian enterprises and companies faced a personnel shortage. In turn, President Vladimir Putin pointed out that currently the domestic labor market lacks a total of 2.5 million people.
