OREANDA-NEWS At the plenary session, the State Duma adopted in the first reading a draft law on the establishment of a minimum wage of 27,093 rubles from January 1, 2026.

Currently, the federal minimum wage is 22,440 rubles before personal income tax, while the regions can set a higher value.

"The minimum wage will exceed the living wage of the able—bodied population by 31.2 percent," Dmitry Platygin, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection, said at the meeting.

He noted that the minimum wage increase in 2026 will amount to 20.7 percent and will reach 27,093 rubles, which is 48 percent of the median salary. According to Rosstat data for 2024, it amounted to 56,443 rubles.
