OREANDA-NEWS Nina Ostanina, head of the State Duma Committee on Family Affairs, told RIA Novosti that in the Russian Federation it is necessary to provide a system of state orders for the purchase of a uniform school uniform, while the children themselves should come up with a sample for it, and a form from the USSR can be used as a basis.

Earlier, Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov, during the government hour in the State Duma, spoke about the need for decisions on school uniforms in educational institutions. Later, the ministry conducted a survey on this topic on the site of its Telegram channel - more than 80% of participants felt that a school uniform was necessary "If it puts a burden on the shoulders of parents, then what is this uniform. I am sure that it will be necessary to start with the help of manufacturers, with a state order, so that the state, even if not one hundred percent, but co-financed," Ostanina said.

At the same time, the parliamentarian noted that not only the relevant ministry or, for example, legislators, but also the children themselves - school designers - should be involved in the work on creating a unified school uniform. To do this, she suggested holding a "fashion show for children designers": "We need to invite them to create their own versions of school uniforms and, based on this, ask the children themselves what they liked more." As Ostanina shared, it is planned to involve the Duma Committee itself in such work - it is possible to hold meetings with school and parent communities.

To create a single uniform sample for students, it would be possible to use a sample of school uniforms as in the USSR, but change it based on "the requirements and challenges of the time," she noted. Separately, she proposed to provide options for school uniforms (within a single sample) for the southern regions - "lightweight", and insulated options - for the northern ones.
