This is reported by CNN, citing a source in the White House.

Earlier, The New York Times wrote that Trump would like to meet with his Russian counterpart "as early as next week." According to informed sources, after that, Trump intends to hold a meeting with Putin and the head of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, without the participation of European leaders. The publication notes that it is not yet known whether the Ukrainian and Russian presidents support Trump's idea.

Fox News, meanwhile, reported that Putin had told White House special envoy Steve Witkoff that he wanted to meet with Trump. After this proposal was delivered to Washington, the US president announced that he was ready for the summit.
