OREANDA-NEWS  The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) is cooperating with digital platforms to prevent speculative resale of fuel, the agency said in a statement.

"In particular, Avito hid fuel trading ads while finalizing the rules in this category. The sale of fuel for cars is prohibited on the Ozon and Wildberries digital platforms. Attempts to create cards for such goods are blocked even at the moderation stage before they appear on the electronic showcase of marketplaces," the message says.

The agency also recalled that it continues to work on verifying the economic validity of the components of the cost of petroleum products - transportation, storage, and marketing. In particular, unscheduled inspections of large oil traders on signs of collusion at auctions were conducted in the wholesale market. A case on violation of the Law on Protection of Competition was initiated against three of them.

In addition, the FAS previously instructed the territorial authorities to strengthen control over the sale of fuel for farmers. They need to strengthen control over compliance with antimonopoly legislation when selling fuel, including from oil depots, oil storage facilities and gas stations.

The service also sent a request to the Neftmagistral trading House and the Tracsa gas station network about fuel prices. These companies must provide the agency with information on the weighted average price of gasoline and diesel fuel, as well as on their sales volumes at gas stations by June 26.
