OREANDA-NEWS  Commenting on the situation around the conflict in Ukraine, US President Donald Trump said that Russian leader Vladimir "Putin must stop." He stated this during a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Reuters news agency reports.

At the same time, Trump partially abandoned his harsh statements that he had previously made about Russia. In particular, he indicated that he would no longer use the expression "paper tiger". He also expressed hope that Turkey would participate in the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier in an interview with Lenta.Greg Simons, a professor at Daffodil International University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and an expert at the Valdai International Discussion Club, said that Trump deliberately started speaking harshly about Russia in order to start making more money in Ukraine and Europe. In particular, he recalled Washington's plans to sell weapons to Brussels, which would redirect them to Kiev.
