OREANDA-NEWS Western countries have not abandoned their aspirations to divide Russia and Belarus. This statement was made by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Maria Zakharova.

"They are preparing for a rematch, apparently, they are waiting for a convenient moment," she said.

According to Zakharova, the Belarusian society has already been taught by coup attempts. The diplomat noted that any coup d'etat would negate the experience of building a Union State.

Earlier, Oleg Gaidukevich, deputy chairman of the Permanent Commission on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, noted that the West has been probing the ground and trying to strike since President Alexander Lukashenko came to power in 1994, and all its actions are related to countering the geopolitical choice of Belarus.
