OREANDA-NEWS Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for awarding her the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree. She posted her words of appreciation on the official Telegram channel.

"It's unbelievable! Thank you for such a high assessment!" she wrote.

Zakharova noted that she intends to continue working for the benefit of "Russia and the people."

Earlier it was reported that Putin awarded Zakharova the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree, for her "contribution to the implementation of the foreign policy course of the Russian Federation and long-term diplomatic service."
