OREANDA-NEWS. The head of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus Viktor Khrenin announced the start of the second stage of a sudden check of the country's troops. According to him, these events were an "adequate response" to the NATO military exercises, which began in the countries of the military-political bloc on May 1. Khrenin stressed that the leadership of the republic takes into account all the threats that may come from members of the North Atlantic Alliance, BelTA writes.

We have begun testing the response forces, literally today the second stage will begin. This is an adequate response to the exercises that have been taking place on the territory of NATO countries since May 1 under the name “Defender of Europe,” Khrenin said.

Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko spoke about a possible attack on the country by Poland. He threatened to "break off the horns" of Warsaw in the event of such an attempt.

He noted that Belarus is a peaceful country, but it is not worth talking with it from a position of strength. Lukashenka also recalled that Russia, which is a nuclear power, is behind it, and that there are agreements between Moscow and Minsk in the field of defense and security.

Earlier, Lukashenko said that Belarus would not take part in a military special operation in Ukraine, since there was "no need" for this. At the same time, he stressed that only Minsk supports Moscow, while "as many as 50 states have joined the united forces" and are fighting on the Ukrainian side.
