OREANDA-NEWS. British singer Harry Styles threw a two-day Halloween “Harryween” costume party, where he performed his hits and a cover of Britney Spears' song "Toxic" for fans, Variety reported.

Styles and his band amazed fans on the first day of the show at Madison Square Garden in New York City with their Wizard of Oz costumes. The singer himself appeared as Dorothy Gale - he spent the entire show wearing a short blue dress, red patent leather shoes, a bow in his hair and a basket with a teddy bear puppy, Totoshka. Stiles performed his hits, including the rarely heard from the stage “Over the Rainbow” and “To Be So Lonely”.

On the second day, Halloween night, Stiles appeared to fans as a harlequin clown. He wore a lavish white costume of an Italian court theatre character, adorned with rhinestones and the characteristic ruffles of the image. Styles almost repeated the first day's programme and performed “Medicine” as an encore. On the night, the audience truly exploded when the music from “Toxic” hit the stage: the singer performed a cover of Britney Spears' iconic 2003 song.

It remains a mystery exactly what the gesture meant and whether his performance can be considered a show of support for the “Free Britney” movement. The musician's representatives have yet to comment on the matter. Despite the fact that some users on social networks did not like Stiles' performance, the majority of the singer's fans were absolutely delighted with the cover.

Stiles' Harryween show drew an audience of around 40,000 people and has become one of the most talked about events this Halloween.
