OREANDA-NEWS The Russian publishing house of fiction "House of Stories" will launch the direction of modern Russian prose. The House of Stories expects to reach a volume of 30% of books by Russian-speaking authors in its portfolio, the press service of the publishing house told TASS.

"The House of Stories publishing house of fiction, which started its work only this year, is launching a direction of modern Russian prose. The release of the first novels is scheduled for 2023, and in 2024 it is planned to actively develop this direction. When searching for books for a new direction, much attention is paid to dense and voluminous stories, the action of which would be connected with Russia, where problems and topics that would be understandable to the reader who grew up in the post-Soviet space would be touched upon," the publishing house said.

So, in November, the "House of Stories" will present to readers the books of four debutant writers. Among them is a novel set in Turkey and Moscow, "The Day between Friday and Sunday" by the writer and translator Irina Lake, the book "Copy" by the Tula writer Yulia Kupor about the small town of Voskresensk-33, which is not on the map, the novel by Alice Khantsis about the mother-daughter relationship "Caryatids", as well as the work Alexandra Ermolaeva "Someone is crying all night behind the wall", whose heroes live in Kemerovo.

The publishing house noted that in the future, the House of Stories expects to reach a volume of 30% of books by Russian-speaking authors in its portfolio. The new books will be published in all formats: first in paper, then in electronic and audio versions.
