OREANDA-NEWS. All-Russian center for the study of public opinion conducted a survey of Russians dedicated to the sensational Korean TV series «The Squid Game». As it turned out, 53% of Russians know nothing about the series, and 26% have only heard the name and do not know anything about the plot. 40% of viewers, who generally represent the plot of the series, believe that scenes of cruelty and violence in it can provoke similar behavior in real life. This is evidenced by the survey data on the center's website.

1,600 Russians aged 18 and over took part in the survey. As it turned out, 47% of Russians have heard about the series «The Squid Game», while 8% are well aware of the series (20-36% among young people, 16% among residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg), 13% have heard in general what this series is about, and 26% have heard only the name.

Among those who know about the series in general terms, 10% have watched only one episode, 35% have watched several episodes, 12% have not watched, but are going to, and 43% have not watched and are not going to do it. 40% of those who know about the series in general terms consider it possible that scenes of cruelty and violence in it can provoke cruelty in real life, 57% hold the opposite point of view. 26% rather support the idea of banning the series in Russia (32-46% among the citizens of the older generation), 29% rather do not support, and 31% replied that they do not care.
