OREANDA-NEWS The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation has revoked the rental certificate of the film "Aita" directed by Stepan Burnashev, the corresponding entry is published in the register of rental certificates of films.

"The rental certificate has been revoked in accordance with the order of 25.09.2023," the document published in the register states.

The reason for the revocation of the rental certificate is not specified.

Earlier, Vedomosti reported that Roskomnadzor revealed "destructive information in the film that contradicts the principles of unity of the peoples of Russia" and demanded that video services eliminate the violation. After sending the regulator's request, online cinemas removed "Aita" from their libraries.

"Aita" is a 2022 Yakut feature film, which premiered on March 30, 2023. The plot of "Aita" is based on the story of a Yakut schoolgirl who, because of an unhappy love, decides to commit suicide by leaving a note: "Afonya, I hate you!" Aita dies in the hospital, it turns out that she was pregnant. Athos is the name of a Russian policeman, and all suspicions fall on him. Aita's father, Ayaal, decides to take revenge.
