OREANDA-NEWS.  Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) and Abu Dhabi Petroleum Institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The signing ceremony gathered Dr. Thomas Hochstettler, President of the Petroleum Institute, Dr. Ebrahim Al Hajri, Director of External Relations and Collaborations of the Petroleum Institute, Mr. Abdulla Al Shamsi, Deputy Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Azerbaijan, representatives of BHOS management, professors, lecturers and students. The Memorandum of Understanding reflects mutual support in organization of workshops, conferences and trainings, cooperation directed to special development fields in the frames of training projects.

In his welcoming speech, BHOS rector Elmar Gasimov underlined that owing to cooperation between BHOS and the Petroleum Institute it would be possible to realize mobility of students and academic staff in the field of engineering, preparation and application of academic programmes, exchange of academic publications, training materials, realization of joint research and engagement in various activities. Elmar Gasimov highly appreciated the partnership between BHOS and the Petroleum Institute and expressed confidence that both higher schools would be distinguished in the field of education and training of engineers.

Dr. Thomas Hochstettler said the Petroleum Institute was the high- level educational institution and research center dealing with education in the field of engineering and energy. Dr. Hochstettler said they were pleased and interested in cooperation with BHOS in the field of education and training of engineers and bilateral cooperation would enable both schools to gain higher achievements in this field.
