This was announced by the director of the center Alexander Ginzburg. His words on Friday, January 13, are quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to the epidemiologist, they began to collect a new drug in the form of a design. "She will be against variants with the letter X — XBB and HVB.1.5 ("kraken"). I don't know how fast the HVV option is.1.5 will spread, but the vaccine must be done quickly," Ginzburg added.

On January 12, it became known that a new variant of the kraken coronavirus was first discovered in Russia. A 32-year-old resident of Penza became infected with it, she suffered from the disease in a mild form. She claims that she has not traveled outside the country. It was noted that the patient was not vaccinated against COVID-19.
