OREANDA-NEWS  Additive technologies can improve many aspects of life and make a significant contribution to ensuring the technological sovereignty of the country, Tatarstan is ready to play the role of a generator of key decisions in this area, said the head of the republic Rustam Minnikhanov.

"Tatarstan intends not only to act as an active consumer of additive manufacturing products, but is also ready to play the role of a generator of key solutions. In this work, we are interested in the deepest cooperation with the industry leader – Rosatom State Corporation. Additive technologies can really radically improve many aspects of our life, make a significant contribution to ensuring the technological sovereignty of the country," Minnikhanov said at the opening of the forum.

According to him, Tatarstan has always been at the forefront of the transition to a new technological order, the basis of which is formed by additive manufacturing. This is possible due to the unique combination of a powerful industrial base and a developed scientific, educational and technological complexes in the republic.

Minnikhanov stressed that additive technologies are developing rapidly all over the world today. They are actively penetrating into mechanical engineering, energy, construction, petrochemistry, healthcare and many other industries. These technologies allow not only to improve the characteristics of existing products, but also to create fundamentally new designs that cannot be manufactured in any other way.

The Head of Tatarstan also noted that according to experts, by 2030 two thirds of all products in the world will contain printed components. The explosive growth of additive manufacturing is also noted in the Russian Federation. So, just last year, the turnover of companies working in this area increased 5 times.

The V Leader Forum "Additive Technologies - a new reality" opened in Kazan on Friday. The forum, which will last two days, is the main Russian platform bringing together the latest achievements in the field of additive technologies, leading industry experts and representatives of innovative companies. More than 2.5 thousand people, 15 leading universities of the Russian Federation, more than 120 enterprises take part in the work.

Additive technologies are the process of creating three-dimensional objects or parts by adding material, usually layer by layer. Plastic, metal, concrete are used as the main raw materials. These 3D products are created using 3D printers.
