OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2010. New passenger buses run along the roads of the Turkmen capital. The population of the capital increases, new housing areas and wide avenues are built and transport infrastructure including one is developed.

The fleet of passenger vehicles in Ashgabat is steadily replenished. Last year 500 Hyundai city buses were delivered from South Korea. These days new vehicles produced at the Minsk automobile plant ‘explore’ the roads in Ashgabat roads. According to the Ministry of Motor Transport of Turkmenistan, a pilot consignment of new passenger buses produced by the Minsk automobile plant will be tested during six months.

Minsk buses appeared on the streets of the Turkmen capital shortly after the President of Turkmenistan had visited the Minsk automobile plant in the Republic of Belarus. At that time the partners reached the agreement to conduct experiment that is carried out on the roads of Turkmenistan now.

MAZ-105 buses with Mercedes engine (2.79 hp) meet the modern trends in interior design and comfort and are designed for 160 passengers. Buses have lower steps, soft seats, air-conditioning system and thermal insulation and sound-proofing cover.

18-metre giants very easily follow the road bends. They are supplied with the special equipment for disabled passengers. 12-metres buses designed for 102 passengers are supplied with sound-proofing cover. The test will show if Belarusian buses meet the requirements.
