OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2007. UniCredit Group has implemented several successful projects in Belarus, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky declared at a meeting with representatives of International Moscow Bank (IMB), UniCredit Group and Austria Austria Kreditanschtalt AG, reported the Official website http://www.government.by.

“Belarus has accumulated a good loan portfolio with the UniCredit bank,” Sergei Sidorsky said and cited an example of Mogilevkhimvolokno reconstruction partially funded by UniCredit Group.

UniCredit intends to continue investing in various economic spheres in Belarus. This particularly pertains to micro-crediting projects.

According to Sergei Sidorksy, the newly opened representative office of International Moscow Bank in Minsk will also foster cooperation with UniCredit since IMB is member of the UniCredit Group. Sergei Ovseichik, who presented interests of Belarus, Russia and Tajikistan in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, was appointed head of the IMB representative office.

UniCredit makes top ten largest financial organizations of Europe in the volume of its market capitalization, total assets and revenues. It is ranked 14th among the world’s largest banking groups. The market capitalization of the group is estimated at Euro 70 billion, the total assets – at Euro 846 billion, deposits and debt securities amount to Euro 500 billion, loans – Euro 441 billion.
