OREANDA-NEWS. On October 22, 2007 Salym Petroleum Development N.V. (SPD) has achieved a new milestone in the development of the Salym group of oilfields in Western Siberia where total daily production from its West Salym, Upper Salym and Vadelyp fields exceeded 100,000 bopd (14,000 tonnes per day) more than a month ahead of schedule, reported the press-centre of Salym Petroleum.

SPD CEO Harry Brekelmans, commenting on the announcement, said, “ SPD has doubled daily production from 50,000 bopd to 100,000 bopd in just 16 months reflecting the dynamic development of the Salym Fields. SPD has produced over 22 million barrels (3 million tonnes) of oil year-to-date in 2007.

Reaching the 100,000 bopd level represents a major achievement for the Salym project and is a testament to the skill and dedication of our employees and contractors as well as support by the local Khanty-Mansiysk administration.”
