OREANDA-NEWS. December 03, 2007. Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) organized a working meeting with representatives of Russian breweries and the Union of Russian Producers of Beer and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

At the meeting, the participants discussed the issues that raise most questions and disputes in relation to enforcement of the Federal Law "On Advertising" to advertisements of beer and beer-based-products.

In particular, participants looked upon specifics of advertising campaigns, promotions and other similar activities of advertising nature, targeting unspecified set of people.

Discussing enforcement of the prohibition to use human and animal images in beer advertisements, participants concluded that using photographs and other images of humans and animals, that took part in an advertising action, is not allowed, including picture stories or photo-reports about such events which can be recognized beer advertising.

In addition, the meeting participants discussed requirements for disseminating the statutory warning on the harm of excessive beer consumption as well as liability of the subjects of advertising operations for breaching the advertising legislation of the Russian Federation in their beer advertisements.

Detailed answers to the questions discussed with representatives of beer-producing companies will be put on the FAS Russia web site in the near future.
