OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2007. In the near future, a decision will be made whether Latvia Post chief Gints Skodovs will remain at his post, Transport Minister Ainars Slesers (Latvia's First Party/Latvia's Way) said this morning in an interview to Latvian Radio 1.

He pointed out that the Transport Ministry will assess Latvia Post's submitted company development concept as well as the current problems the company is facing. Then the decision on Skodovs' fate will be made.

Skodovs said in an interview on the "Latvijas Neatkariga televizija" (LNT) TV program "900 Seconds" this morning that Latvia Post's delivery problems have been taken into account and the company is doing everything to fix them.

Skodovs also admitted that he is not fully convinced that every person who has subscribed to magazines or newspapers will receive them because all of the problems at Latvia Post have not been resolved. Latvia Post receives approximately 10 to 50 complaints a day.

Skodovs also added that people who have not received their subscriptions will receive compensation.
