OREANDA-NEWS. February 07, 2007. Ukraine's metallurgical enterprises were licensed in January for supply to the European Union member-countries of 132,931 tons of rolled stock, which is 9,82% of the EU's annual quota, the Economy Ministry reported.

The Cabinet of Ministers set quotas for the export of metal products to the European Union in 2008 in a total volume of 1,353 million tons, which is 2,5% up on last year's level.

In June 2007, Ukraine and the EU signed the agreement on trade in some steel goods, according to which the EU increased quotas for the supply of Ukrainian metal products by 31,4% last year.

The quotas are expected to be abolished after Ukraine finally enters the World Trade Organization.
