OREANDA-NEWS. On February 05, 2007 this is what the Vice-Chairman of the National Agency for Competition Protection (NACP) Ion Echim has told. He has specified that there is no mechanism for the funds being transferred from to the Agency budget, reported the press-centre of NACP.

The law stipulates that the Agency is entitled to 20% of the sum of administrative charges, applied for refusing to provide information, limiting access, etc. This fine usually makes about 20 leis. Echim states that the agency does not intend to finance its activity from fines. "It will be a stone thrown in our garden. We will be blamed of being not objective in our decisions", - he says.

In his words, the agency has already suggested that Parliament should exclude this provision, as creating contradictory situation and harming the NACP image. Still, Ion Echim notes, but for financial funds from the state budget, the NACP has special budget, formed from charges for complaints consideration. So, for claimants documents consideration the NACP legally charges 90 leis.

Larger charge of 210 leis is for considering concentration and determining dominant position. Ion Echim has specified, that funds from the special budget cannot be used for the NACP employees payment.
