OREANDA-NEWS. February 11, 2008. Russia will have a large 350 sq m pavilion at the 1st International Specialized Exhibition “Nuclear Energy 2008,” to be conducted in Minsk Feb 12–15 2008. The exposition will present information about the latest changes in the structure of Russia’s nuclear power industry: the establishment of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, a structure that is supposed to replace the existing Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy, and Atomenergoprom, a state holding that is meant to consolidate all assets of the civil nuclear sector as well as Russia’s plans for the construction of nuclear power plants at home and abroad. Today, Russia is one of the four countries having all stages of the nuclear energy production cycle.

Over 30 Russian nuclear organizations, including the operator of all Russian nuclear power plants, Rosenergoatom Concern, one of the world’s leading nuclear fuel suppliers, TVEL OJSC, the world’s biggest constructor of NPPs abroad, Atomstroyexport CJSC, will present their products at the exhibition.

Russia’s exposition will consist of the following thematic sections: Design and Construction of Nuclear Power Plants: Machine Building; Nuclear Fuel Cycle; Safe Operation of Nuclear Power Plants; Devices and Equipment: Conversion; System for Training Personnel for Nuclear Industry. Thus, Russia will present the whole spectrum of Atomenergoprom’s capacities and will show that it is a multi-field and multi-product company and has big potential for becoming the key partner of Belarus in the development of its nuclear industry.

International Specialized Exhibition “Nuclear Energy 2008” is to be held in Minsk on Feb 12–15 2008.

The organizer of the event is Belinterexpo and the Commerce and Industry Chamber of Belarus.

The objective of the exhibition is to familiarize the Byelorussian public and the specialists that will be involved in the construction of a nuclear power plant and the development of nuclear power engineering in Belarus with the international experience in the field of design, construction and operation of nuclear power plants.

Companies and organizations from Belarus, Russia, Germany, Ukraine and Sweden are expected to take part in the exhibition. Leading experts will make reports on the key problems of nuclear power engineering. Representatives of Rosatom and other foreign companies will give press-conferences for Byelorussian and Russian journalists.
