OREANDA-NEWS. April 01, 2008. Moldovan exports of spirits registered an increase of 3,3 times in February 2008, from 7 mln 448,2 thousand USD up to 24 mln 501,7 thousand USD, show data of the Moldova-Vin Agro-Industrial Agency.

During the same period, exports to the CIS market, which is further the main region for the Moldovan products, reached 20 mln 672,2 thousand USD, by 4 times more than in February 2007.

According to the data of the Agency, Moldovan wine exports to Ukraine increased by 2,2 times and amounted to 7 mln 295 thousand USD; to Russia - 5 mln 370,8 thousand USD; Kyrgyzstan – 244,6 thousand USD (by 2,7 times more); Georgia – 203,5 thousand USD (by 9,4 times more); Belarus - 6 mln 551,8 USD(by 10,4 times more).

Also, by 1,7 times increased the exports to the European Community, amounting to 3 mln 516,4 thousand USD. The biggest importer of Moldovan wine products was Poland with 1 mln 423,9 thousand USD or by 2,7 times more against the period of reference last year.

The second and the third places in terms of imports of spirits belong to Romania and Germany with 888,4 thousand USD and 416,6 thousand USD respectively. Thus, exports of wine products to Romania and Germany increased by 2,3 times.

Also, significant stocks of wine products were exported to the Czech Republic (229,8 thousand USD), Bulgaria (28,6 thousand USD), Irlanda (21,7 thousand USD), South Korea (24,8 thousand USD), the USA (143,4 thousand USD), Congo (Zaire) (22 thousand USD) and Turkey (21 thousand USD).
