OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 May 2008 was announced, that Belarus’ international reserves, based on the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) methodology, went up 7.6% in January-April 2008 to U.S. \\$4.498 billion as of May 1, 2008, according the Statistics Ministry.

As of May 1, foreign currency reserves amounted to \\$3.997 billion, up 3.4% in January-April, monetary gold amounted to the equivalent of \\$415.7 million, up 80.7%, and other assets were at \\$84.4 million, down 1.9%.

In January-April, Belarus’ international reserves rose by \\$315.8 million. They fell by \\$247.6 million in April alone.

In 2007, Belarus’ international reserves, based on the IMF methodology, tripled to \\$4.182 billion.
