OREANDA-NEWS. On July 25, 2008 The Government of Moldova has released wineries from paying fines for non-repatriation of currency for wines delivered to Russia. In order to do this, the cabinet approved amending the Law on Regulation of repatriation of funds, goods and services accumulated from the foreign economic transactions.

According to the amendments, economic agents are exempt from paying for non-repatriation of currency for the products delivered in case of losses incurred as the result of the ban in the countries-foreign- economic partners confirmed by the government.

As the general director of "Moldova-vin" Yuri Carp noted, because of the Russian ban on the export of Moldovan wines and cognacs, producers have problems with repatriation of incomes from shipments to Russia delivered to this country till March 2006. Thus, the producers could get neither money nor goods, because most of them were destroyed.

As Yuri Carp noted, total sum of non-repatriated currency for wine-brandy products, delivered to Russia till the end of March 2006, amounted to 129 million leis (US13,2 million).
