OREANDA-NEWS. On July 25, 2008 the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Tyumen region (OFAS Russia) initiated a case against "Gazpromneft - Tyumen" OJSC, "Lukoil-Uralnefteproduct" Ltd. and "AZS-N1" Ltd. for breaching Article 11 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Following the FAS Russia's order, Tyumen OFAS Russia weekly monitors the wholesale and retail prices for oil products. It has discovered that during a long period "Gazpromneft - Tyumen" OJSC, "Lukoil-Uralnefteproduct" Ltd., in the person of its Tyumen subsidiary, and "AZS-N1" Ltd. have been fixing the same retail prices for oil products at their refueling stations.

Tyumen OFAS Russia believes that such actions of the agents of the retail oil products market violate the antimonopoly legislation in terms of their failure to observe the prohibition of concerted actions for fixing and maintaining prices. Article 11 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" prohibits concerted actions of economic entities on the goods market if such actions lead to can lead to fixing or maintaining prices.

The case will be heard on 28th August 2008.
