OREANDA-NEWS  On 30 September was announced, that in the village of Lukavicy, Vyzhnitsky district, Chernigiv region, an international holding CENTRAVIS handed welfare assistance to schools at the flooded area as a part of its social programme.

Vyzhnitsky district belongs to areas that suffered the most as a result of the floods that occurred in western Ukraine during the summer of 2008. The area with 60,000 inhabitants located in the Carpathian foothills, and without industry and developed infrastructure, has been without the minimum needed for a normal life.

The International Holding CENTRAVIS allocated more than 120 thousand UAH, for which 20 gas stoves for cooking in schools of Vyzhnitsky district were purchased. All the materials were delivered by the holding directly to the area and handed over to schools.

Klavdia Nazarenko, Head of Vyzhnitsky district education administration: “We have in front of us a very long process of reconstruction, and, of course, we cannot deal with it alone. The funds which we received from CENTRAVIS not only helped us financially, but supported us emotionally. We were not left alone with our troubles. The thing that other regions think and care about us, is very encouraging, it gives strength to overcome difficulties and return to normal life”.

Ivan Lelikov, Deputy CEO at CJSC “CENTRAVIS PRODUCTION UKRAINE”:“We have not doubted a single moment to expand the scope of our planned social activities and help the flooded areas. It was not easy to decide where exactly to send the money. We wanted to provide welfare support that will reach the addressee and that is vitally necessary. A lot of children lost their shelter and survived the shock — to return to normal life, they need to continue learning, and need it to be held in good conditions”.
