OREANDA-NEWS  On 30 September Hogan & Hartson LLP announced that Nikolay Mizulin joined the firm's Brussels office as counsel. Mizulin will enhance the firm’s international trade capabilities throughout Europe and Asia.

Mizulin started his professional career as legal counsel at a Russian energy company. Most recently, he was a member of the international trade practice in Brussels at another global law firm. He has extensive experience with trade remedies proceedings Ї both anti-dumping and anti-subsidy Ї and has the distinction of being the youngest lawyer to advocate a case before the World Trade Organization (WTO).

At Hogan & Hartson, Mizulin will focus his practice on international trade and energy matters, with an emphasis on Russian and Ukrainian clients. He will work closely with the firm’s expanding Moscow office.

“Nikolay will be a tremendous resource for the firm and our clients. He is a real team player and therefore a perfect fit into the firm’s preeminent international trade practice,” said Lourdes Catrain, European Trade Practice Group Director based in Brussels. “Nikolay’s experience will be critical in taking our international trade practice in Europe to the highest level. He has the strategic skills to assist clients in energy and other key sectors which face increasingly important trade issues including Russia and Ukraine’s accession to the WTO.”

Commenting on his arrival at the firm, Mizulin said, “Hogan & Hartson’s ongoing commitment to expanding its international trade practice coupled with the high value the firm places on client service are what attracted me. I look forward to collaborating with this group of exceptional lawyers.”

Mizulin received his law degree from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, a master degree’s from the University of Bern’s World Trade Institute, and a magister juris from Oxford University.
