OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2008. From now on new investment opportunities and Swiss private banking practice are available for the Lithuanian population as well: Ukio bankas has signed a cooperation agreement with Credit Suisse, one of the world’s most famous banks of Switzerland, reported the press-centre of Ukio bankas.

The Swiss have chosen Ukio bankas after the protracted negotiation and selection. Ukio bankas has become Lithuania’s first and only bank providing the services of a Swiss bank. The Lithuanian and Swiss banks will cooperate in private banking.

“Our residents will be offered Credit Suisse private banking products of worldwide recognition. Using Credit Suisse services, clients will have the chance of investing in the whole world’s funds instead of several tens of funds that so far have been offered by Lithuania’s banks and investment companies. Ukio bankas clients will have the possibility of choosing from more than 100 investment funds in different corners of the world,” said Zivile Geralaviciute-Davodov, director of Ukio bankas Private Banking Department.

One of the proposed novelties is investment in gold. So far Lithuanian banks have not offered this chance. In the words of the Private Banking Department’s director, investment in gold currently is considered as one of the most attractive investment.

Apart from this service, Ukio bankas will offer more than 50 traditional and non-traditional investment instruments to its private banking clients.

“Among them are investments in jewels and precious metals. We will also offer other non-traditional fields allowing the clients to recover investment increment even in the periods of the economic downturn,” said Z. Geralaviciute-Davodov.

“Credit Suisse organises its activities according to the principle of a single bank, i.e. the Bank’s private banking clients will receive the possibility of investing in investment funds offered by the banks of the whole world from the same hands. The clients of a Lithuanian bank will be able to make investment throughout America, Austria and other countries not only in Europe alone.

“Having started cooperation with Credit Suisse we have not only made a big step forward as a bank but also gave a boost to the level of the Lithuanian banking services,” said Ukio bankas Private Banking Department director.

From now on Ukio bankas private banking specialists will have the chance of giving advice to their clients using the most advanced programs of Credit Suisse, receive all the required information about the world’s most profitable investment funds and their profit forecasts.
