OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2008. The export of alcoholic products from Moldova increased by 76% in nine months 2008 compared wit the similar period of 2007. According to the data of the Moldova-Vin Agroindustrial Agency, the exports amounted to 146.5 mln USD against 83.4 mln USD in 2007.

According to the cited source, 86.4% of exports were oriented to the CIS states, with an export value of 126.6 mln USD (82% more than in 2007). The exports to the EU countries amounted to 17.2 mln USD (42% more than in 2007), and the exports to other countries totaled 2.6 mln USD (38% more against the same period of time last year).

Traditionally, the most significant exports of spirits targeted Russia – 47.6 mln USD, exports to Ukraine amounted to 35.1 mln USD, and to Belarus – 34.4 mln USD.

According to Moldova-Vin, the exports of Moldovan wine products to Kazakhstan amounted to 5 mln USD, to Romania amounted to 4.1 mln USD, Czech Republic - 2 mln USD, Azerbaijan – 2.1 mln USD, Georgia – 1.4 mln USD and the USA – 1.2 mln USD.

Moldova-Vin representatives say that the growing trend of the Moldovan wine exports will continue.
