OREANDA-NEWS. On August 17, 2009 The Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko announced that owing to realization of 15 bail-out programs of the Government economic growth is being observed, which was confirmed by data of the State Statistics Committee. The Head of Government informed during the briefing.

According to her, official statistics reveals that in the first half-year of 2009 negative trade balance has shortened almost 15fold as compared to analogous period of 2008 and it proves the absence of any prerequisites for fluctuations of the national currency.

Moreover, Yulia Tymoshenko disclosed the most stable branch of national economics appears agriculture which from beginning of year has shown rise in industrial output at the level of 3.8% as compared to 7 months of 2008.

The Head of Government noted that despite 26% drop of industry in July of 2009 against July of last year almost 5% growth occurred in comparison with June of 2009: “it is a significant showing implying that economics started recovering”.

Also, according to Yulia Tymoshenko, “confident and rather dynamic growth” is being observed in metallurgic industry: “there is hope that by the end of year we will be able to resume amounts of metallurgic production”. The Premier paid attention also to the improvement of light industry showings which in July upped by over 5.5% against June.

She explained the Government continued supporting of a building branch also, in particular directed UAH 2 billion for completion of housing objects. The Head of Government stated in July of the current year against June a production of blocks and bricks increased by 16.6%, elements of precast constructions from cement, concrete or stone – by 14.8%, roofing slate and other roofing – by 14.6%, goods from asphalt or analogous material – by 41%.

“With having the whole picture, general view of how our economics moves I can say with assurance: the Government and me as Prime Minister will manage to curb the crisis and there are no doubts about that,” Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized. The PM addressed other power branches with a request not to hamper activity of the Government and not to create artificial obstacles on the way of getting the country out of the crunch.
