OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2009. In January-August, 2009, Moldova has registered the largest reduction of the industrial output after the Ukraine among CIS countries- by 24,6% as compared to the same period of the last year.

According to CIS Statistical Committee, the reduction in the industrial output as compared to the same period of the last year made 14%, whereas in January-July, I half of the year and I quarter of 2009, it has made 15% (in January-August January-July and I half of 2008, its growth made 6% and in I quarter of 2008 - 7%, respectively).

The main decline in the industrial output was observed in the processing industry. In Ukraine, the volume of industrial output has declined by 29,6%, in Russia - by 14%, Kyrgyzstan – by 12,7%, Tajikistan - by 88,6%, Armenia - by 11,9%, Belarus - on 4,6%, Kazakhstan - by 1,5%. At the same time, the growth in the industrial output was registered in Azerbaijan - 3,9% and Uzbekistan (6 months of 2009) - 9,1%.

In August 2009, as compared with corresponding month of 2008, the industrial production in CIS countries has declined by 12%. The decline in the industrial output in Moldova has amounted to 23,1%, but as compared to the previous month, the industrial production has grown by 1,2%.
