OREANDA-NEWS On 07 October was announced, that Belarus plans to increase freight transit by developing the transport corridor connecting China and the Baltic States. This information said Transport Minister Ivan Scherbo when opening the exhibition Transport and Logistics in Minsk.

It is planned to increase freight transit to Lithuanian ports. 

The minister plans to sign a relevant memorandum in Vilnius on October 19, 2009. The document will be inked by Lithuania, Belarus and China. Russia and Kazakhstan will also take part in the project. 

“Asia has developed powerful transport and logistical centers. To connect Asia and Europe, we need a transport corridor,” Scherbo said.
