OREANDA-NEWS. With effect from 16th November 2009, Sampo Pank will lower the maximum daily limit of payments made via Sampo Internet Bank and Phone Bank with the one-time code card to EEK 50,000. The purpose of the change is to increase security in the use of online banking services. The above limit does not apply to those customers who use the ID card or the PIN calculator. It means that they can make payments in accordance with the limits set in their agreements concluded with the Bank, reported the press-centre of Sampo Bank.

Lowering of the limit concerns only those customers who have been issued one-time code cards and whose daily limit in Sampo Internet Bank and Phone Bank exceeds EEK 50,000.

In view of security of our customers we recommend them to use the ID card, the PIN calculator or the Mobile ID instead of the one-time code card, while entering the online bank or the phone bank.

From 15th October to 15th December, the customers who have been using one-time code cards are offered an opportunity to purchase an ID card reader or a PIN calculator at a discount price of EEK 60 and EEK 75, respectively. Customers who are interested in our offer should go to the nearest Sampo Pank’s branch.

The clients of EMT can identify their person also with the SIM-card of the mobile phone or the Mobile ID, which functions as an ID card. To use the Mobile ID neither a card-reader nor additional software is needed. The Mobile ID enables to perform the same procedures as the ID card – to identify one’s person and sign digitally.

Instructions for the use of the ID card, the PIN calculator and the Mobile ID are available on Sampo Pank’s website under ”Electronic channels”.

The above-mentioned cutting of the limit is one in a series of measures taken by the Bank over the recent years in lowering the limits of payments made with reusable code cards.
The above change concerns 5,000 customers (ca 2.8%) of the clientele of Sampo Internet Bank which amounts to 181, 000.
