OREANDA-NEWS. October 30, 2009. The Government has approved the bill of using US180 million (117.7 million SBR) of IMF special allocations to cover the budget deficit. As the Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta has noted at the meeting of the government, the International Monetary Fund has approved the decision, which proposes to allocate US250 billion to mitigate the negative effects of the global crisis.

According to the procedures of the Fund, each country can use these funds in accordance with the domestic needs. "In the context of the real situation, these funds can be used to cover the huge budget deficit", - said Negruta.

This year, Moldova has already received IMF allocations worth US 175 million. Moldova will have to pay an interest rate of US 5.22 million (0.25% p. a). The Minister said that the money is already in the country and the Parliament will have to make an appropriate decision.
