OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2009. Sorainen has prepared a map of the most important state-owned enterprises included in the privatisation list for Minsk region to assist potential investors in Belarus.  More than a year ago the Belarus government approved the privatisation plan for 2008-2010, where more than 500 state-run entities were understood to be included within the three-year plan, as part of a massive reorganisation and privatisation programme in the country, reported the press-centre of Sorainen.

For some companies from the said list the privatisation process has already started. The list of objects to be privatised in 2010 consists of approximately 200 enterprises from different industries, including potentially interesting enterprises from machinery industry and a military complex.

The most important objects for the upcoming period are “Belspekontrakt“ – a supplier for the Armed Forces of Belarus; “Minskiy Motornyi Zavod” (Minsk Motor Plant) – the only enterprise in Belarus producing diesel engines; “Minskiy Avtomobilnyi Zavod” (MAZ) (Minsk Automobile Plant) – the biggest producer of heavy trucks, trailers, buses in Belarus and one of the leaders in the CIS and Europe as well as many other enterprises.
