OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2009. The package composes draft laws on minimum subsistence level and need criterion.

At yesterday’s session deputy minister for economic development Sevinj Hasanova claimed that on the basis of done calculations it was offered to increase minimum of subsistence from 85 up to 87 manats a month since 1 January 2010.

Besides, subsistence wage for economically active population will be fixed at the level of 96 manats, for pensioners 68 manats and for children 72 manats.

As for need criterion serving a basis for appointment of targeted social assistance (TSA), it is suggested to establish it at the level of 65 manats.

Earlier Ilgar Rahimov, deputy minister for labour & social protection, emphasized that a higher rise of the criterion had no practical sense as people whose monthly income per every family member exceeds this sum have property and other indicators preventing them to receive TAE.

140,000-150,000 families are receiving TAE in the country. The government relates 180,000 families to the risk group or 9.5% of their overall number.

The government plans to follow active social policy with the risk group.
