The IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) is the benchmark for global safety management in airlines.

Inclusion in the register of the operators passed IOSA is recognition of "Air Moldova" airline’s commitment to safety in the global aviation community, adhering to the strictest international requirements. It allows to develop more successfully cooperation with leading world airlines and to offer the passengers flights practically in all cities of the world where operate flights partners of "Air Moldova" airline under Interline Agreements.

Standard IOSA has been introduced in 2003, and in 2008 became a necessary condition of membership in IATA. By the end of 2007 all participants of this association have been obliged to pass the given audit. New members IATA are accepted now only at presence of certificate IOSA. It is the first world standard of safety of flights, and its introduction allows to organize activity of airline so that acceptance of any decisions first of all took into account safety requirements of flights.

"Air Moldova" became member IATA (International Air Transport Association) in 2004, receiving thus the international code 9U.
