Before Christmas the airline will launch flights from Vilnius to Paris, Berlin and Munich, while flights to Amsterdam and Rome will be offered at the start of the next year, reported the press-centre of Vilnius Airport.

airBaltic welcomes the long-awaited decision
“We welcome the decision of the Ministry of Transport and Communications to change the price formation of the airport, which will enable Vilnius Airport and the entire aviation market of the country to recover and will encourage positive changes in the economic situation. It is already for five years that we have been speaking of the price formation problem at the airport, to solve which the decision has been finally taken,” noted Mr. Tadas Vizgirda, Vice President and Director General of the Lithuanian representative office of airBaltic. In his words, the right price formation of the airport will attract more airlines, thus turning Vilnius and Lithuania to a more inviting destination for both tourists and investors.

Plans to renew the most needed flight routes
Flights from Vilnius to Paris, the route to be renewed first, will be launched on 18 December. airBaltic is planning flights to Paris on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, which implies a greater number of week-end trips to this destination. Aircrafts of the airline will start flying to Munich and Berlin respectively on 19 and 21 December. Flights to Munich will be operated on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, while flights to Berlin are scheduled on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

First flights to Amsterdam and Rome will be launched at the start of the next year – respectively on 4 and 11 January. Passengers will have the possibility to travel to Amsterdam every day, except for Saturdays. Morning flights to the capital of the Netherlands make it possible to take connecting flights. On Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays airBaltic plans flights to Rome.

Flights to Copenhagen and Riga will be operated as per the winter flights schedule. According to Mr. Vizgirda, there are considerations to renew flight routes for the coming summer flight season. “The gate to the principal European capitals will finally open before Vilnius. Connecting flights will offer the possibility to reach around two hundred cities. We are convinced that next year Vilnius Airport will have all chances to become the most rapidly growing airport in Europe,” assured Vice President of airBaltic.
