OREANDA-NEWS. November 26, 2009. Andrey Kashevarov, Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) and the Group of Finnish Advisors at the Government of St Petersburg agreed to organize, jointly with the Finnish Competition Authority, a seminar for the Finnish companies that operate or plan to do business in the Russian Federation about the FAS Russia's work and application of the Russian antimonopoly legislation to Finnish companies, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Group of Finnish Advisors is a unique institution of cooperation and information exchange with the leadership of the largest Finnish companies. It includes leaders of some leading companies from Finland and Scandinavia, both long established in Russia and only planning to open their business here.

The meeting covered the main issues related to the prospects of entry and expanding of Finnish business in the Russian markets of banking services, construction and the services for vehicles safety inspection, as well as major measures undertaken by FAS Russia to protect competition in those markets.
