OREANDA-NEWS. January 22, 2010. The Committee has informed that in December growth of base CPI rose by 0.3% against November when its growth was 0.5% versus October of 2009. Last year decline of base index made 0.6%.

The growth in 2009, compared to 2008, totaled 1.6% versus to the growth of 22.1% for 2008 and 10.3% for 2007.

Last December the CPI rise was 0.8% versus November 2009 and year–on-year growth of 1.5% was registered.

Between January and December 2008 it was observed tendency of base CPI exceeding that was almost equal to core inflation and level of consumer inflation on an annualized basis.

In 2009, the exceeding tendency kept in both year-on-year and in monthly estimate.

The Committee says that base index is calculated on the basis of a complex of consumer goods and services with estimate of overall consumer price index. Calculations do not cover prices and types of services regulated by the government and goods depending on seasonal factors (fruits and vegetables).
