OREANDA-NEWS. March 04, 2010. It was said by the executive Vice-President of Nestle in Europe Laurent Freixe at the meeting with Prime Minister Vladimir Filat noting that the Moldovan market gives good opportunities for that that, it was informed at the Government.

The parties discussed issues concerning activity of the Nestle company, especially in the Eastern Europe and prospects of expansion of the company’s business in Moldova. Vladimir Filat welcomed Nestle’s intentions emphasizing that creation of favorable conditions for attraction of foreign investments into the country is one of the Moldovan Government’s priority tasks.

The Moldovan Prime Minister marked results of the Nestle’s activity in neighboring states coming out in favor of promotion of large projects in Moldova. Vladimir Filat said Moldova had a high potential of production of agricultural raw materials including ecologically clean, that may be used for processing and production of a wide rage of foodstuffs. Nestle is the largest foodstuffs production concern in the world.

The company was established in 1866. The group takes about 1.5% of the world market of foodstuffs and beverages. It currently owns over 480 factories and industrial enterprises in 86 countries. Its main brands are Nesquik, Nescafe, Extreme, Maxibon, Maggi, KitKat, Perrier, Sanpellegrino, Vittel. Nestle’s net profit in 2009 totaled 7.1 billion euros.
